Axistwelve Private Cloud

We offer private cloud hosting, which is ISO 27001 certified. Our private cloud architecture is co-located in Kent and Newbury at The Bunker's data centres.

These ex-military nuclear bunkers have received millions of pounds of investment. Upgrades have covered power, cooling and infrastructure. As well as fire suppression and Carrier Neutral connectivity. Backed by The Bunkers Risk Management and Accreditation Document Set (RMADS). They are also both IL3/4 rated.

We back up the security and performance levels of The Bunker by our own internal processes. ISO 27001 certified, we have strict processes for change control and server management. Trusted worldwide, our hosting offering delivers superior performance, security and uptime.

Data Centre Facilities

Our data centres provide one of the most secure hosting environments in Europe. They also have the ability to support high levels of power and cooling. Full support of our systems is provided 24x7x365 by a range of security, technical and network staff. And there are stringent access control procedures to ensure high levels of security.

Our virtualised solutions sit on a Kernel-Based Virtual Machine (KVM) platform. We use Puppet to automate repetitive tasks, quickly deploy critical applications, manage change and scaling.

Our hosting service includes the following as standard:

  • Access to an Infrastructure expert 24/7/365 for any Severity 1 infrastructure issues
  • Access to an Infrastructure expert 9am – 5pm for any non-Severity 1 infrastructure issues
  • Nightly off-site encrypted back-ups of your server to an Amazon S3 instance
  • Intra-day local MySQL back-ups of your database for quick data restore
  • Zenoss real-time availability and resource consumption monitoring
  • Syslog management (Logstash)
  • Intrusion Detection System (Snort IDS)
  • Operating system updates (including security and kernel updates)
  • Security patching
  • Puppet-managed configuration
  • Access to our secure ticketing system (Jira) to raise tickets
  • Standard SLA, 99.9% uptime of server guaranteed (excluding maintenance)

Support

We aim to keep core service components secure and online as part of the support supplied in our hosting service. This core service covers Operating System, Database, Web, Firewall, Intrusion Detection, Search and Caching Services.

We recommend that our hosting service is procured in conjunction with a support contract. This will allow you to call-off tasks that are not included in our core hosting service such as:

  • Ad-hoc restores/rebuilds of environments
  • Infrastructure advice and consultancy
  • Help with any issues related to software or configuration
  • Updates/changes to software, other Operating system, Database, Web, Firewall, Intrusion detection, Search, and Caching services
  • Changes to our standard configuration requested by our clients
  • Application support
  • Application updates
  • Anything else not covered by our standard hosting service

ISO27001 certified

Secure hosting

Here at Axistwelve we are proud to have been ISO27001 certified (certification no. 598644) since 2013.

In 2023, we re-certified to ISO27001:2022 - the newest version of the certification that has been updated to reflect many changes introduced around cloud security and remote working. We were one of the first organisations to work with the British Standards Institute to achieve these new standards.

Axistwelve are also certified to ISO9001, and the ISO270017 and ISO27018 - 'Security Controls within a Cloud Computing Environment' and 'Protecting Personal Information in the Cloud'.

We choose to certify with the British Standards Institute (BSI), as they offer the highest levels of inspection and most demanding levels of quality. This certification means we are independently audited to prove we adhere to the highest standards of security.

Cloud Compute 2

In 2023, Axistwelve were invited to the Cloud Compute 2 framework, as one of only 10 suppliers throughout the UK accredited to offer Cloud Secure + hosting services to List X and List N levels of security and compliance.

The Cloud Compute 2 framework allows all central government and wider public sector organisations to access cloud computing services such as Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and other additional ancillary services with robust terms and conditions and streamlined onboarding.
